- Earlier this year the Board adopted a rule allowing sitting presidents who have reached governor term limits to run for reelection and serve as ex officio voting board members for the length of their presidential term.
- The leadership will oversee a packed awards calendar that includes the Governors Awards on Nov. 15, shortlist and nominations voting in December–January, and the 99th Oscars on March 14, 2027 hosted by Conan O’Brien.
- Howell Taylor, a veteran producer with credits including A Star Is Born, is the fifth woman to hold the presidency and her reelection gives the Academy a steady lead as it prepares programming and member services ahead of its centennial year.
