Overview
- Crews were dispatched around 2 p.m. Monday after reports of smoke at a townhome structure at Caribou Highlands Lodge on Lutsen Mountains.
- Firefighters found a building containing three townhomes fully engulfed and evacuated nearby buildings as a precaution.
- No injuries have been reported, with volunteer departments from Lutsen, Tofte and Grand Marais, along with Lutsen EMS, credited with the response.
- Authorities have not determined the cause and say an investigation is in progress.
- Cascade Vacation Rentals advised guests to avoid the area because of heavy emergency traffic and smoke, noting Ski Hill Road and the mountain were not impacted.
