LUMINISCENCE to Light Up St. Patrick's Cathedral Starting October 1

Organizers say the 360-degree projection and music installation will be staged as a respectful activation that raises funds for the Kilgen organ restoration.

Overview

  • Banijay Americas announced on August 11 that LUMINISCENCE will open at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on October 1 with performances on select dates through the end of 2026.
  • Actor Jonathan Roumie will serve as the voice narrator for the New York run, which will pair his narration with immersive 360-degree video mapping.
  • The installation will offer LUMINISCENCE Live Plus dates with a live choir and orchestra and other dates that use recorded music and voice‑over, with ticket prices varying by experience.
  • Proceeds from the run are designated for the Renew the Living Voices: The Kilgen Organ Campaign to support the multi-year renovation of the cathedral’s historic Kilgen pipe organ by Casavant Frères.
  • LOTCHI and Banijay present the project as part of a global franchise that has staged more than 20 productions since 2023 and drawn about two million visitors, and cathedral leaders have publicly welcomed the initiative as a way to preserve and introduce the site to new audiences.
