Lula Delivers 576 Social‑Housing Units in Manaus

Overview

• The federal government officially handed over 576 apartments in the Residencial Morar Melhor in Manaus on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, completing modules 13–15 of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida development.
• The project received R$ 92.16 million from the Fundo de Arrendamento Residencial (FAR) and the apartments have 49.81 m² of private area with balconies.
• The complex includes three libraries, two barbecue areas, a community center, three commercial spaces, a sports court and basic infrastructure such as water, sewage, public lighting, electricity, paving and drainage.
• At the delivery ceremony attended by Chief of Staff Miriam Belchior and Minister Vladimir Lima, Lula said poor people are often treated as 'invisible' by politicians and urged voters to be discerning about lies spread by phones and social networks.
• The units are expected to benefit about 2,000 people and reflect the long‑running Minha Casa, Minha Vida approach of pairing housing construction with local services such as daycare, schools and a health unit, a combination that could shape how voters and communities experience federal social policy ahead of elections.
