Luke James to Star in Broadway Musical Wanted

The casting signals a star-driven push that positions the retitled, historically rooted show for a commercial Broadway launch.

Overview

  • The production announced the casting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, naming Luke James as Elijah and confirming previews will begin Oct. 15 with an official opening on Nov. 8 at the James Earl Jones Theatre.
  • The principal lineup pairs James with Solea Pfeiffer as Mary Clarke, Liisi LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, and Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke.
  • Wanted features a creative core of Angelica Chéri as book and lyricist, Ross Baum as composer, director Stevie Walker-Webb, and choreographer Chelsey Arce.
  • The musical was developed regionally and in workshops under the original title Gun & Powder, released a five-song Studio EP, and was retitled Wanted as it moved toward Broadway.
  • P3 Productions is producing the Broadway transfer with New Ventures Entertainment joining as general partners, additional casting and creative-team announcements are expected, and the star-focused casting could broaden the show’s commercial reach and audience crossover.
