Lucas Museum Timed-Entry Tickets Go on Sale Ahead of Sept. 22 Opening

The timed reservations pair paid admission with a local LM37 pass and targeted free-entry rules to manage crowds while prioritizing neighborhood access.

Overview

  • Tickets went on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. for timed visits from Sept. 22, 2026 through Feb. 28, 2027 and must be reserved online.
  • General admission is set at $25 for adults and $21 for seniors, while children 17 and younger, active-duty military, personal aides and EBT cardholders receive free entry.
  • The LM37 program will offer free passes to residents of the 90037 ZIP code with registration expected to open in August and each pass allowing a resident to reserve one free guest ticket.
  • The museum will open with more than 1,200 works across roughly 100,000 square feet of galleries, including a centerpiece show, “Star Wars in Motion,” and the campus features a 300,000-square-foot building by Ma Yansong and an 11-acre park by Mia Lehrer/Studio-MLA.
  • A community preview day for local residents, partners and civic leaders is scheduled for Sept. 13, a step meant to give the neighborhood advance access and help the museum test crowd-management before public opening.
