LPGA Launches Nanea Cup, a Pro‑Collegiate $4 Million Tournament in Hawaii

The new March event pairs 95 tour pros with 25 college players to speed player development, deliver Golf Channel storytelling, and raise funds for local charities.

Overview

  • The LPGA unveiled the Nanea Cup on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, saying the inaugural tournament will be played March 11–14, 2027, at Nanea Golf Club in Kailua‑Kona on the Big Island.
  • The field will feature 95 LPGA Tour players and 25 collegians from Stanford, Texas, Arkansas, Texas A&M and UCLA who will compete together in concurrent individual and team competitions.
  • All players will tee off Thursday and Friday before the field is cut to the low 50 and ties, and college golfers who miss the cut will still play Saturday to help determine a team champion.
  • Golf Channel will produce feature storytelling and live coverage to introduce the private Nanea course to a national TV audience, and four first‑time LPGA sponsors — Charles Schwab, Dell Technologies, Salesforce and Workday — back the event.
  • The Nanea Cup includes a pro‑am that connects players with corporate executives, aims to raise $1 million for the Nanea Foundation, and is intended to accelerate rookies’ transition to tour life while testing a new calendar slot between the Asian swing and the Fortinet Founders Cup.
