Louis Vuitton and De Bethune Unveil LVDB-03 Watch-and-Clock Duo Priced Up to €4 Million

The collaboration revives Breguet’s 18th-century Sympathique concept to signal Louis Vuitton’s push into serious high watchmaking.

Overview

  • The LVDB-03 GMT Louis Varius run comprises 12 pieces, with 10 standalone watches and two watches reserved for pairing with the LVDB-003 Sympathique clock.
  • Pricing is set at €375,000 for each standalone watch, with the watch-and-clock sets priced at €4,000,000.
  • The wristwatch uses De Bethune’s manual DB2507LV movement running at 4 Hz with 404 components, a five-day reserve, a titanium balance and a silicon escapement.
  • The 10 kg Sympathique clock, crafted in titanium, meteorite and rose gold, contains 760 components, runs at 2.5 Hz and offers an 11-day reserve wound by a titanium key with a remontoir d’égalité.
  • A docking cradle lets the clock set and wind the watch, and both pieces were unveiled in Tokyo with bespoke LV titanium trunks as part of Jean Arnault’s independent-maker collaboration strategy.
