Los Angeles Marathon Set for Sunday With Rolling Street Closures Starting at 3 A.M.

Heat forecasts prompted a mile-18 early-finish option for runners.

Overview

  • Roughly 25,000–26,000 participants will run from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica Boulevard at Avenue of the Stars in Century City.
  • Closures will roll into place from 3 a.m. with reopenings after runners pass, and selected ramps on the 110, 101 and 405 will be temporarily closed.
  • Runners have 6 hours 30 minutes to finish from the last start, with medical aid stations and shuttles along the course for those who drop out.
  • Organizers introduced a one-time option to exit just past mile 18 and still receive a finisher medal, with official results later updated to reflect mileage.
  • NBC4 and Telemundo 52 will broadcast live from 6–11 a.m., forecasts call for a cool start and highs near the low 80s by afternoon, and clocks spring forward at 2 a.m.
