Overview
- City Council voted 13-0 on March 4 to add the home at 11222 W. Dilling Street to Los Angeles’ list of historic-cultural monuments.
- The designation empowers the Cultural Heritage Commission to review proposed changes and to delay demolition for up to one year.
- The Cultural Heritage Commission and the Council’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee had recommended approval earlier this year.
- Built in 1959 by architect Harry M. Londelius Jr., the Midcentury house was used only for exterior establishing shots of the 1969–1974 sitcom.
- HGTV bought and renovated the home in 2019 to mirror the show’s interiors, adding about 2,000 square feet and a concealed second story, then sold it for $3.2 million to Tina Trahan, who has offered limited charity tours.
