Overview
- Police arrested 64-year-old Paul Campbell on Wednesday and charged him with continuous sexual abuse of a child after a parent reported an outcry from a student over the July 4 weekend.
- An arrest affidavit released by investigators says at least two 8-year-old girls told forensic interviewers that Campbell repeatedly touched them at his desk during the 2025–26 school year.
- Campbell was taken into custody in the Plano ISD administration building parking lot after being called to a meeting and remains jailed without bond.
- Plano ISD trustees voted to terminate Campbell and the district reported the case to the Texas Education Agency and the State Board for Educator Certification as police continue interviewing witnesses.
- Because Campbell worked at Brinker Elementary for more than 25 years, detectives are asking former students and any community members with information to contact the special victims unit and investigators note the charge is a serious felony under Texas law.
