Overview
- Flooding that hit the network on Tuesday, June 23, forced the Elizabeth line to stop between Heathrow Terminals 2&3 and Terminal 4 and closed Tramlink between Sandilands and Elmers End/Beckenham Junction.
- A separate signal-system fault caused full or partial suspensions on the Circle, District, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines and left Bakerloo and other routes facing major delays.
- An earlier points failure at Southall added severe delays on the Elizabeth line between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5/Reading and disrupted services across linked overground routes.
- TfL’s chief operating officer warned very high temperatures will lead to temporary speed restrictions, and several operators have urged customers to avoid travel on June 24–25 while offering refunds and alternative ticketing.
- Passengers are advised to expect ongoing delays, carry water, use alternative routes where possible, and take advantage of accepted tickets on other services as operators manage the combined impact of weather and equipment failures.
