Overview
- The single-decker TfL bus mounted the pavement on Thursday, July 2, struck street furniture and two parked cars, and became lodged in the front of a terraced house on St Quintin Avenue, badly damaging the entrance and windows.
- Firefighters from North Kensington, Hammersmith, Chelsea and Croydon made the scene safe and recorded call and clear times of about 7.12pm and 8.03pm respectively.
- A London Ambulance Service paramedic attended and confirmed nobody required treatment while the Metropolitan Police said no arrests have been made and no criminal offences identified.
- Streets remain cordoned with the westbound carriageway closed between Highlever Road and North Pole Road and bus routes 7 and 70 diverted as dangerous-structure engineers assess the property.
- The Met is appealing for witnesses to contact 101 quoting CAD 7570/2July and Transport for London and the bus operator are working with investigators to establish the cause and next steps for removal and repairs.
