Overview
- Young surprised crowds by appearing for a secret Grid-stage set on Sunday, performing hits such as "Messy," "One Thing" and "Conceited."
- She announced the slot minutes beforehand on her Instagram story, telling fans she was backstage and asking them to meet her at the Grid at 14:15.
- The performance marks Young’s Reading & Leeds debut and is one of her first major UK festival appearances since she paused touring after collapsing onstage in September 2025.
- Her Reading return follows a February 2026 comeback to live shows, a brief six-date UK tour and industry recognition this year that included a Grammy and a Brit award.
- Festival organisers used surprise or ‘special guest’ slots across the weekend to boost on-site buzz, with Young’s short set adding momentum to her recovery and future festival prospects.
