- At a Chennai press meet on January 26, the director said Kaithi 2 will follow his Allu Arjun project and reaffirmed commitments to Kaithi 2, Vikram 2 and a standalone Rolex film.
- He explained he paused Kaithi 2 to pursue a rare Rajinikanth–Kamal Haasan collaboration, then exited after 1.5 months because the stars preferred a lighter film he did not want to make.
