Loard’s Recalls Dozens of Retail-Sized Ice Creams for Undeclared Allergens

An FDA inspection found missing allergen labels on take-home tubs sold at the company’s Northern California parlors.

Overview

  • Loard’s Ice Cream, which notified the FDA on April 16, is recalling all retail-sized products after inspectors found labels that failed to declare major allergens.
  • The recall spans more than 40 flavors sold in 32-ounce paper containers and 56-ounce plastic cups in storefront freezers at Loard’s parlors across Northern California.
  • The FDA warns that people allergic to milk, eggs, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, or soy could face severe or life-threatening reactions if they eat the affected products.
  • No illnesses have been reported to date, and customers are urged to return the products for a refund or a replacement with updated packaging.
  • A complete list of recalled flavors is posted on the FDA website, and customers can reach Loard’s at hello@silvermoonfoods.com or 415-547-0520 on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
