- Over the weekend the Lions hosted eight tryouts at Allen Park that included Trevon Diggs, two quarterbacks, two receivers and three linebackers.
- Detroit signed linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga from that tryout group and has agreed to veteran quarterback Josh Dobbs for depth behind Jared Goff.
- Diggs was an All‑Pro in 2021 after leading the league with 11 interceptions but has played only sporadically since a 2023 ACL tear and later knee surgeries.
- The Lions’ evaluation reflects a clear need for cornerback depth after cutting Terrion Arnold and dealing with injuries and limited availability in the secondary.
- No contract for Diggs had been reported as of Aug. 9–10 and Detroit is using the workout to verify his health and on-field fit before making any signing.
