Lindon Utah Temple Opens for Public Tours March 12 Ahead of May 3 Dedication

Two baptistries are designed to ease crowding for youth performing proxy baptisms.

Overview

  • Media tours launched March 9, led by Elders Jorge T. Becerra and James R. Rasband, with invited guest tours March 10–11.
  • The public open house runs March 12–April 11, excluding Sundays and April 4 for general conference, and no reservations are required.
  • The temple will be dedicated May 3, becoming Utah’s 25th operating temple and the Church’s 216th worldwide.
  • Elder Rasband explained the decision for two baptismal fonts as a response to high youth demand for proxy baptisms in the area.
  • Design motifs reference Lindon’s linden tree heritage, and the site near homes and the Murdock Canal Trail includes bike racks to support local attendance.
