Lima Water Utility Cuts Service Today in Nine Districts for Up to Eight Hours

The utility says the shutdowns are for planned maintenance, advising households to store water in advance.

  • Service interruptions began this morning across specified sectors of Comas, San Juan de Lurigancho, San Luis, San Borja, Ate, Santa Anita, Santiago de Surco, Chorrillos and La Molina.
  • Most districts are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while Comas runs from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with durations varying by sector up to eight hours.
  • Sedapal attributes the temporary suspension to maintenance and improvement works on the distribution network.
  • The utility published detailed sector lists, including Surco sectors 87, 89, 296, 297, 298 and 299; Chorrillos sectors 91, 92 and 97; and all of La Molina.
  • Residents were urged to store water and adjust household plans, with the outage coinciding with Valentine’s Day.
