Lima to Host Panamerican and South American Junior Judo Week at VIDENA

The Federación Deportiva Peruana de Judo says the consolidated May 30–June 6 program is designed to speed a generational renewal and position Peru as a regional development hub.

Overview

  • The week-long series will take place at Polideportivo 3, VIDENA, running from May 30 to June 6 and will bring nearly 300 cadet and junior judokas from 14 American countries.
  • Organizers published a full competition calendar with daily preliminary sessions and evening finals and scheduled a public draw of combat pairings in Miraflores on May 29.
  • The program opens with the Panamerican Cadet on May 30 and Panamerican Junior on May 31 and continues with South American championships for Cadet, Junior, Juvenil A and Juvenil B from June 3 to June 6.
  • International training camps for foreign delegations and Peruvian athletes are set for June 1 and 2 to provide extra match practice and technical exchange before the championships.
  • The FDPJ, led by María Martínez Murciego, frames the event as a push for decentralization and talent development that should give young Peruvian athletes greater international exposure and help build Lima’s role as a regional training center.
