Lima Sets Tuesday Water Cuts of Up to 13 Hours as Planned Outages Roll Through Districts

Sedapal says the shutdowns enable reservoir cleaning to protect water quality.

Overview

  • Sedapal, which began Monday maintenance shutdowns, is cutting water in sectors of Ate, Lurigancho and San Juan de Lurigancho on a staggered schedule.
  • The utility confirmed Tuesday suspensions that could last up to 13 hours in parts of Independencia, Ate and San Juan de Lurigancho starting around midday.
  • RPP’s updated list shows additional Monday cuts in Los Olivos and more zones in Ate and Lurigancho, with start times from 8 a.m. to noon and service returning by late evening.
  • Pluz Energía Perú is carrying out separate power outages Monday in select areas of Lima and Callao for maintenance, and it posted a Tuesday schedule for districts such as Carabayllo, Puente Piedra, Los Olivos, Callao, San Martín de Porres, Pueblo Libre and San Juan de Lurigancho.
  • Sedapal has deployed water trucks and urged residents to use official timetables or call Aquafono at (01) 317-8000, since reservoir cleaning takes tanks offline to clear sediment and check valves, and some homes face overlapping water and power interruptions.
