Lima Faces Multi-Day Water Cuts March 12–18 as Sedapal Cleans Key Plant Unit

The utility says targeted suspensions support reliability, offering cistern deliveries plus real-time notices on WhatsApp, Aquafono and its website.

Overview

  • Sedapal confirmed a broad interruption from March 12 to 18 linked to cleaning Decanter No. 4 at Plant No. 2, with daily windows around 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. across sectors in Ate, Santa Anita, San Luis, San Borja, Santiago de Surco, Chorrillos, San Juan de Lurigancho and La Molina.
  • Additional March 12 works include sector-specific cuts in Chaclacayo and Independencia for reservoir cleaning, with published start and end times by sector.
  • On March 10, scheduled outages of up to 12 hours proceeded in San Juan de Lurigancho, Ate and Independencia for maintenance, following earlier notices for March 8 to 9 in districts such as San Miguel, Comas and San Antonio de Huarochirí.
  • Further suspensions on March 11 will affect El Agustino, Lurigancho and Independencia for reservoir cleaning, with Sedapal stating service will return progressively once works finish.
  • Residents are urged to store potable water in advance and use official channels for updates or support, including Aquafono (01 317-8000) and Sedapal’s WhatsApp, while Hidrandina has separate scheduled power cuts through mid-March in La Libertad, Áncash and Cajamarca lasting up to 13 hours in some areas.
