Lille President Olivier Létang Banned Through March 31 in LFP Disciplinary Ruling

The punishment follows his half-time confrontation with referee Éric Wattellier during LilleRennes on January 3.

Overview

  • Effective January 20, Létang is barred before, during and after matches from the technical area, officials’ dressing rooms and all official functions until March 31, with added bans on player areas, the pitch and tunnels through February 15.
  • The commission said the decision stems from Létang’s outburst over Alexsandro’s 13th-minute red card, when he confronted the referee at the break.
  • The ruling revokes previously suspended penalties and temporarily removes Létang from duties at the LFP, including his role chairing the Ligue 1 college.
  • He is not suspended for Lille’s trip to Paris Saint‑Germain this week because the sanction begins next Tuesday.
  • Lille coach Bruno Genesio received a one‑match suspension plus one match with a suspended ban for his conduct in the same game.
