Overview
- An enclosed, 5,000 m² arena near Posto 3 will host up to 15,000 people with controlled capacity and free admission.
- Access will be managed by QR-code tickets issued via the Rio Carnaval app and limited per CPF.
- Programming includes school segments, workshops and exhibitions, plus big-screen live transmissions of rehearsals, official parades, the scoring announcement and the Champions’ Parade.
- The opening on January 20 features about 1,200 percussionists from all Special Group schools led by Neguinho da Beija-Flor in a performance seeking Guinness World Records recognition for the largest samba bateria.
- Lineup highlights include pairings such as Neguinho da Beija-Flor with Belo, Pretinho da Serrinha with Marcelo D2 and Jorge Aragão with Gilsons, under the Rio Capital do Carnaval initiative with support from City Hall and Riotur.
