Lidl Recalls Belbake Chocolate Sprinkles Over Salmonella Risk

Internal checks found contamination in specific batches sold in 10 German states.

Overview

  • Drageefabrik Stolze GmbH, which announced the recall Wednesday, acted after an in-house test detected Salmonella in the 400 g baking topping.
  • Shoppers should check for Belbake Schokoladenstreusel (at least 32% cocoa) with best-before 21 April 2027 and batch codes 1326.01 to 1326.14, as other products are not included.
  • Lidl sold the affected packs in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland and Sachsen.
  • Do not eat the product; return it to any Lidl store for a full refund without a receipt, and seek medical advice if symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting or fever appear.
  • The alert is posted on lebensmittelwarnung.de, Germany’s official food-safety portal, and no illnesses have been reported in the coverage so far.
