LG Opens Preorders for UltraGear 25G590B, a Native 1,000 Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor

Reaching its peak speed requires Windows 11, DisplayPort 2.1, plus select recent NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards.

Overview

  • LG began taking preorders on Monday, Aug. 24, for the 24.5-inch UltraGear 25G590B with an MSRP of $999.99 and shipping slated to start around Sept. 1.
  • The monitor uses an IPS 1920×1080 panel that LG says natively runs at 1,000 Hz and can be overclocked to 1,100 Hz for competitive esports play.
  • Key features include Motion Blur Reduction Pro, NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium, DisplayHDR 400, one DisplayPort 2.1 port, and two HDMI 2.1 ports.
  • LG says users must run Windows 11 and connect with DisplayPort 2.1 to hit 1,000 Hz, and only newer RTX 50-series or select Radeon RX 9000- and 7900-series GPUs meet the company’s stated requirements.
  • LG is offering short-term preorder incentives such as 5 percent back in MyLG rewards and a $1 two-year Premium Care option while early retailer listings show temporary discounts, and reviews note hands-on testing is needed to measure real-world benefits and trade-offs.
