Lexus Unveils TZ, a Three-Row Electric Flagship SUV

The model signals Lexus’s push into top-tier EVs ahead of a 2027 market debut.

Overview

  • Lexus revealed the TZ on Thursday, confirming a six-seat, three-row electric SUV that is slated to reach markets in 2027.
  • Two battery options are planned at about 77 kWh and 95.8 kWh with estimated WLTP ranges of roughly 450 to 540 km, and final homologated figures are still pending.
  • All-wheel drive is standard with system outputs of about 230 kW or 300 kW, quoted 0–100 km/h times of 6.4 or 5.2 seconds, and an electronic top speed of 180 km/h, plus a mode that simulates an eight-speed gearbox with paddle “shifts.”
  • A 400‑volt electrical system supports AC charging up to 22 kW and DC fast charging up to 150 kW, which trails newer 800‑volt rivals from Hyundai, Kia, and Volvo that can take higher power for shorter stops.
  • The cabin centers on a “Driving Lounge” layout with six individual seats, a large glass roof, bamboo trim with ambient lighting effects, and a rear-comfort drive mode; pricing was not announced.
