Months of surveillance culminated in a controlled tunnel immobilisation that avoided disruptions.

  • The planned drive lasted about eight hours from Thursday night to early Friday, with the leopard secured around 4 a.m.
  • Pune Forest Department led a 30-member team with RESQ Charitable Trust, the Indian Air Force and airport authorities.

  • The adult male has recovered and remains under observation at the Transit Treatment Centre in Bavdhan as the Forest Department decides long-term management.
