Leidos and CoreWeave Team to Build Sovereign AI Cloud for U.S. Intelligence and Defense

The deal pairs CoreWeave's AI-optimized infrastructure with Leidos' classified-systems expertise to offer SCIF-capable compute for sensitive missions.

Overview

  • A joint announcement on July 30, 2026 said Leidos and CoreWeave will collaborate to deliver secure, sovereign AI cloud services aimed at U.S. Intelligence Community and Department of Defense workloads.
  • Under the plan Leidos will lead mission integration, secure architecture, accreditation support, cyber operations, data engineering, and customer delivery while CoreWeave will supply an AI-native cloud platform and purpose-built compute.
  • The companies described mission-focused offerings that include classified model training and deployment, analyst augmentation for imagery and data fusion, cyber AI test ranges, synthetic data and simulation, and edge-to-cloud orchestration for forward-deployed units.
  • Actual deployments and system architectures remain conditional on execution of definitive contracts, federal funding priorities, and accreditation of SCIF-capable federal data centers required to host classified workloads.
  • The partnership builds on CoreWeave Federal and prompted an immediate positive market reaction for CoreWeave stock while signaling a push to consolidate fragmented secure AI infrastructure for government programs and contractors.
