Legoland Florida Sets Feb. 27 Opening for Galacticoaster, Its First Indoor Coaster

The family ride is part of Merlin’s $90 million expansion featuring interactive RFID customization.

  • Construction is complete in Winter Haven and the park is testing the ride systems and special effects.
  • Guests can personalize digital spacecraft elements via RFID wristbands and touchscreens, offering more than 625 combinations.
  • The indoor coaster features nearly 1,500 feet of track, speeds up to 40 mph, four-across seating, and a 48-inch height requirement or 40 inches with an adult.
  • Legoland California’s version is scheduled to open March 6 as part of the same Merlin Entertainments investment program.
  • Merlin launched a nationwide Junior Galaxy Explorers initiative inviting children ages 6 to 12 to design Lego spacecraft for a chance to be among the first riders.
