- This week Leapmotor International, the Stellantis‑Leapmotor joint venture, confirmed a battery assembly workshop in Mallén to supply the nearby Figueruelas vehicle plant.
- The Mallén facility will assemble modules and two LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery variants named Pro and ProMax for Leapmotor’s B platform.
- Reports agree the site covers about 34,000 square metres with roughly 19,000 m² built but differ on investment and timing with figures ranging from about €20 million to €25 million and start dates described as already under way or set for 31 July.
