Leapmotor Confirms B05 Exports to UK and Australia as 'Ultra' Performance Model Debuts

The rear-drive hatch runs on Leapmotor’s 3.5 platform with LFP batteries to chase value in the ID.3 class.

Overview

  • Leapmotor said the B05 hatchback will be exported to the UK and Australia later this year, setting up right-hand-drive production.
  • The B05 Ultra shown at the Beijing motor show features a single rear motor rated at 241 bhp (about 180 kW) for a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds, and export availability is not yet confirmed.
  • Two lithium-iron-phosphate battery options are offered in China at 56.2 kWh or 67.1 kWh with claimed 312–373 miles under the CLTC test, which typically reads higher than Europe’s WLTP standard.
  • The car uses Leapmotor’s rear-drive 3.5 architecture with a claimed 50:50 weight balance, and the Ultra adds a lower, retuned suspension, 19-inch wheels, a front splitter and a larger rear wing.
  • Leapmotor has no plans to bring the B05 to ASEAN for now, focusing that region on the B03X compact SUV instead.
