Leapmotor B05 Launches in Europe With Spain Assembly and Sub-€27,000 Price

Local production through Stellantis helps the Chinese EV undercut ID.3-class rivals across the region.

Overview

  • The B05, sold as the Lafa 5 in China, is now on sale in European markets with prices in Italy starting at €26,900 before incentives.
  • The car is assembled at StellantisFigueruelas plant in Zaragoza, Spain, which avoids EU tariffs on Chinese-built EVs and supports the aggressive pricing.
  • European specs include two LFP batteries rated at 401 km or 482 km WLTP, a 160 kW rear motor, and DC fast charging up to 174 kW for a 30–80% top‑up in about 17 minutes.
  • Leapmotor’s hotter B05 Ultra was unveiled in Beijing with a 180 kW motor, a 0–100 km/h time as low as 5.9 seconds, a lowered chassis, and a body kit, and Carscoops reports it will follow in Europe though the company has not announced timing.
  • The pricing undercuts the VW ID.3, Renault Megane E-Tech, and Peugeot e-308 in Italy by roughly €9,600–€13,080, and the standard B05 is also confirmed for export to the UK and Australia later this year.
