Le Parisien Files Complaint After Rima Hassan’s Posts Target Reporter in Epstein Coverage

Editors describe a torrent of antisemitic threats against the reporter following the MEP’s posts.

Overview

  • Le Parisien says abuse of international reporter Robin Korda followed Rima Hassan’s X posts disputing his article on alleged Russian links in the Epstein case and directing users to his account.
  • The newsroom’s SDJ called the messages an almost disguised call for online lynching, reporting dozens of violent posts, many antisemitic and some containing death threats.
  • The paper’s leadership confirmed a legal complaint has been filed and said further complaints are planned for alleged public defamation, incitement to hatred or discrimination, racist or religious insults, and coordinated harassment.
  • Hassan’s team condemned the antisemitic insults and death threats yet argued she cannot be held liable for reactions to her criticism, while she maintained her challenge to the article and accused the journalist of pro-Israel bias.
  • In a parallel development, Senate president Gérard Larcher announced a complaint over Hassan’s separate online attack on Senator Laurent Duplomb, adding to the political fallout from her recent posts.
