Law Society Initiates Disciplinary Case Against Pritam Singh

The society says it acted under the Legal Profession Act on an Attorney-General’s Chambers notice about his dishonesty-related conviction.

Overview

  • A case management conference was listed for Mar 12 in the Supreme Court and held in private before Assistant Registrar James Low.
  • The Law Society says it filed the application on Mar 4 in compliance with the Legal Profession Act after receiving notice from the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
  • LawSoc is represented by a Drew & Napier team led by Senior Counsel Cavinder Bull, while Mr Singh is self-represented; a Ministry of Law register search around the listing returned no entry for him.
  • The proceedings typically go to a disciplinary tribunal and may reach the Court of Three Judges, which can fine up to S$100,000, suspend, censure or strike a lawyer off the roll.
  • The case follows Mr Singh’s 2025 conviction for lying under oath, his failed appeal and S$14,000 fine, and his January removal as Leader of the Opposition, alongside a separate Workers’ Party internal review.
