Overview
- Lavazza began U.S. preorders this week for a $99.99 bundle that includes the Tablì machine, a 60-count variety pack of compressed coffee tabs, and a milk frother, with an official U.S. launch set for August and wider retail roll‑out later in the year.
- The Tablì tabs are solid disks of 100% compressed ground coffee with no coatings, binders, gelatin, casing, or individual wrapping, and they work only in Lavazza’s Tablì machine.
- The system is the product of five years of development after Lavazza’s 2020 acquisition of Caffemotive, backed by more than 15 patents and a new production facility in Gattinara, Italy.
- Lavazza positions Tablì as a sustainability-focused alternative to plastic pods and is targeting faster North American growth after a 26.9% jump in regional revenue in 2025 and a long-term U.S. revenue goal of about €1 billion.
- The move enters a single-serve market dominated by Keurig and Nespresso, with Lavazza saying it seeks a distinct niche rather than to displace the market leaders and noting it will continue selling K-Cup products through an existing Keurig partnership.
