Laura Veirs Announces 'Temple Songs' for August 14, Releases 'Flying Into Darkness'

Veirs pursues full creative control with a wabi-sabi, home-recorded sound.

Overview

  • The album, announced Monday, arrives August 14 on her Raven Marching Band Records.
  • It is her first LP written, recorded, arranged, produced and performed entirely solo, with only an uncredited saxophone guest.
  • Tracked in autumn 2025 at her backyard Temple of Bloom studio with two microphones and a laptop, the album was mixed by Philip Weinrobe.
  • Lead single “Flying Into Darkness” is out with a Veirs-made video and centers on restlessness, uncertainty and a pushback against hollow work and inequality.
  • A UK-led tour starts in September, including a London headline at Earth on September 16 with support from Karl Blau, followed by dates in Ireland and North America.
