Leaders say the shift links weekly classes to home study to deepen learning.

Overview

  • The First Presidency announced the change Monday, with implementation set for Sept. 6, 2026.
  • The new flow keeps a 60-minute sacrament meeting, adds two 25-minute classes with five-minute transitions, and holds Primary for about 55 minutes.
  • The rotation ends as members attend Sunday School and their quorum or Relief Society every week, with the two-hour total unchanged.
  • Sunday School and Primary continue the Come, Follow Me study plan, and adults in Relief Society and elders quorum keep focusing on recent general conference messages.
  • Youth move to an updated For the Strength of Youth guide in September 2026, and wards get an August fifth-Sunday prep day with training resources and limited flexibility on meeting order.
