LATAM Airlines Perú Halts Jaén Service and LimaHavana Route Over Runway Repairs, Cuba Fuel Shortage

Affected travelers can request refunds or free rebooking through LATAM’s Mis Viajes portal.

Overview

  • Flights to Jaén were suspended on February 15 after CORPAC closed Fernando Belaunde Terry airport for safety-related runway maintenance expected to last about 60 days.
  • CORPAC, the state airports authority, is carrying out the works and will permit service to resume once the runway is confirmed safe.
  • Passengers holding Jaén tickets may change travel dates, obtain refunds, or rebook to nearby airports including Chiclayo, Cajamarca, or Tarapoto.
  • The LimaHavana nonstop has been suspended since February 14 due to an aviation fuel shortage in Cuba, with limited HavanaLima return flights operating through March 7 to repatriate travelers.
  • Customers affected by the Havana suspension can receive full refunds or change destination without charge to Cancún or Punta Cana if travel is completed by June 30, subject to availability.
