Overview
- A rain-triggered landslide struck Pengshui district in Chongqing at about 09:08 local time on Friday, sending rock and mud down a slope beside the Wujiang River and collapsing more than a dozen residential buildings at the mountain’s foot.
- Authorities say at least eight people have died, 34 remain missing, and crews pulled 18 people alive from the rubble although eight of those later died.
