- Lakewood police arrested Andrew Logan Miller, 22, on suspicion of seven counts of vehicular assault, reckless driving, two counts of child abuse, reckless endangerment, and speeding 40 mph or more over the limit.
- Investigators say the school activity bus was turning left onto West 6th Avenue when it was struck by a southbound SUV traveling at a very high speed.
- Sixteen people were taken to area hospitals, and several from the SUV and the bus remain hospitalized, according to police.
- The bus carried Central High School’s wrestling team from Mesa County, including 13 students and two coaches, and four people were inside the white SUV.
- The investigation remains active with speed believed to be a major factor, and Miller is being held in Denver County Jail awaiting transfer to Jefferson County Jail.
