Labrinth Says He’s ‘Done With This Industry,’ Blasts ‘Euphoria’ and Columbia Records

The message lands a month before Euphoria’s third-season premiere, leaving his previously announced collaboration with Hans Zimmer in question.

Overview

  • In an all-caps Instagram notes post, the Emmy-winning composer wrote, “I’m done with this industry… F— Columbia. Double f— ‘Euphoria.’ I’m out. Thank you and good night x.”
  • He offered no explanation for the outburst, and representatives for Labrinth, HBO and Columbia did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
  • Labrinth has scored Euphoria since 2019 and won an Emmy for the Zendaya-featured song “All For Us,” helping define the HBO drama’s sound.
  • Season 3 debuts April 12 on HBO after prior announcements that Hans Zimmer would join Labrinth on the score, but his participation now appears uncertain.
  • The post follows his January release of Cosmic Opera: Act I on Columbia, and social media reactions ranged from support to threats of boycotting the new season if he is not involved.
