LA28 Sets First Olympic Ticket Sales With Locals Presale This Week and Public Drop on April 9

LA28 will use verified resale partners starting in 2027 to protect buyers from fake listings.

Overview

  • Email notifications for the locals-only presale began Tuesday in a rolling wave through April 4, with purchase windows running April 2–6 and the first general-sale window, called Drop 1, set for April 9–19.
  • Time slots are assigned by lottery and last 48 hours, buyers have 30 minutes to check out items in their cart, and locals must pay with a card tied to an eligible Southern California or Oklahoma billing ZIP code.
  • Fans can buy up to 12 tickets across Olympic events plus 12 separate soccer tickets, with a four-ticket cap for each ceremony that counts toward the 12-event limit.
  • Primary tickets will be sold only through AXS and Eventim, and LA28 named AXS, Eventim, Ticketmaster, and Sports Illustrated Tickets as verified resale platforms that will not list LA28 tickets until 2027.
  • Organizers expect about 14 million total tickets with 1 million priced at $28 and most under $400, and they said initial drops will avoid dynamic pricing while Paralympic tickets follow in 2027.
