L.A. Influencer Ordered to Stand Trial in Alleged Dating App Burglaries

A judge ruled there is enough evidence for a jury to hear prosecutors’ dating-app theft case.

Overview

  • Adva Lavie, 28, was held to answer Monday on six felonies after a judge found enough evidence to proceed, moving the case toward a jury trial with arraignment set for April 6 in Van Nuys.
  • The counts include two for unauthorized use of personal identifying information, two for grand theft, one for first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and one for first-degree residential burglary.
  • Prosecutors say that from 2023 to 2025 she used dating apps to pose as a girlfriend or travel companion, gained access to homes in Westlake Village, West Hollywood, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, then stole cash, gold and high-end designer items.
  • She has pleaded not guilty, is out of custody on an electronic ankle monitor with stay-away orders, and faces up to 11 years and eight months in state prison if convicted on all counts.
  • Investigators say the charges involve five alleged victims, and an October sheriff’s bulletin drew more than 10 additional tips with reports also filed in Hermosa Beach, Henderson, Fort Lauderdale, France and Italy, while some outlets spotlight her modeling persona and a podcast host’s separate theft claim.
