Overview

• The magnitude-7.1 quake that struck on Tuesday, July 28, centered in Kumamoto, caused concentrated collapses at an Aeon Mall and a Nippon Paper factory where most of the 34 confirmed deaths occurred and investigators are probing a possible gas explosion at the mall.
