KTM Refreshes 790 Duke With New Chassis, Brakes and Sharper Styling

The mid‑cycle revisions are aimed at improving rider control and comfort while the updated model is prepared for staggered international sales from the end of July.

Overview

  • KTM officially revealed the 2027 790 Duke on June 23 with a wide-ranging update that focuses on ergonomics, chassis geometry, suspension, braking hardware and bodywork rather than more engine power.
  • The bike keeps the 799cc LC8c parallel‑twin unchanged and Euro 5+ compliant, continuing to offer the standard 105 hp tune and a 95 hp A2‑compliant variant for restricted-license markets.
  • KTM reworked the rider triangle with a new handlebar angle, repositioned footpegs, revised seat, new triple clamps and a one‑piece subframe, changes the company says yield a more natural riding position and a claimed 2 kg weight loss.
  • Hardware upgrades include 43 mm WP APEX front forks and a WP APEX rear monoshock with simplified adjustment, new in‑house WP radial‑mount front brakes for a more linear lever feel, a WP steering damper and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.
  • KTM confirmed it will phase out the controversial Demo Mode after customer feedback, plans international sales from the end of July with regional timing to vary, and a single outlet has reported a provisional UK launch price of about GBP 8,000.
