KSRTC Adds 2,000 Festival Buses as TGSRTC Sets Peak-Day Fare Policy

Early booking is advised because fare rules differ across the two corporations.

Overview

  • Karnataka’s KSRTC will run 2,000 special buses from March 18 to 20, with return services scheduled for March 22.
  • KSRTC is offering 5% off for advance group bookings of four or more and 10% off the return fare when onward and return tickets are booked together.
  • Special KSRTC services will depart from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda and Mysore Road bus stations to statewide destinations and select cities such as Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
  • Telangana’s TGSRTC will deploy festival specials for the heaviest rush on March 17 and 18 with return arrangements on March 23, and fares on special buses may be revised up to 1.5 times on March 17, 18 and 23 under Government Order No.16, while regular services keep standard prices.
  • Passengers are urged to reserve seats via the official KSRTC and TGSRTC portals, with TGSRTC noting possible bus reallocation based on demand and free travel for women on specified services during festival days under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
