Overview
- The scheme will provide solar systems to 130,000 eligible households across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the merged districts.
- Distribution is split between 65,000 free systems and 65,000 at 50% subsidized cost payable in easy installments.
- Chief Minister Sohail Afridi directed officials to complete all procedural requirements without delay to begin distribution.
- District quotas will be allocated in proportion to population, with priority for widows, persons with disabilities, TDPs, disaster-affected families, other vulnerable groups, and off-grid communities.
- A separate AIP project targets an additional 120,000 households in the merged districts and is expected to go before the provincial cabinet at its next meeting.
