Koepka Fixes Driver Setting Error to Rebound in Masters Round 2

A switch to a flatter B1 setting on his Titleist driver added a fade until he reset it to his usual A1.

Overview

  • Brooks Koepka, speaking Friday, said his driver had been unknowingly set to B1 during Thursday’s opening round, and he shot a 72.
  • He found the issue on the range after his round and reset the club to A1 before Friday’s play, which rules allow between rounds, with no explanation yet for the switch.
  • DataGolf showed the turnaround off the tee, moving from a 0.41-stroke loss Thursday to a 0.86-stroke gain Friday.
  • His accuracy ticked up from seven to nine fairways hit, and he carded a 69 to reach three under, tied for 13th and nine shots behind Rory McIlroy.
  • The Titleist GT3’s adjustable hosel changes lie and shot bias, and the B1 position is about 0.75 degrees flatter than A1 and tends to produce a fade.
