Overview
- Bill Kapri, known as Kodak Black, was arrested in Pompano Beach on Thursday and, after a court hearing Friday, posted a $3,500 bond and was ordered not to use weapons while the case is active.
- The new counts are fleeing and eluding and resisting without violence, which prosecutors say stem from a Feb. 27 stop involving a pink Jeep Grand Cherokee that left the scene as several armed men arrived.
- Deputies later found the SUV near Interstate 95 and reported discovering suspected oxycodone, marijuana, about $26,500 in cash and jewelry, identifying Kapri through DMV records and a same-day Instagram story.
- The arrest follows a separate Orlando case in which he was booked May 6 on a felony MDMA trafficking charge tied to a November 2025 incident, pleaded not guilty May 7 and posted a $75,000 bond.
- Attorney Bradford Cohen calls the newest case a self-surrender and says his client is being targeted, and Friday he told the judge the armed men were licensed security, as both cases now advance on separate court tracks.
